Once is the story of “the Guy” (yes, none of the characters have names) who works part-time for his father’s business. Other than his work, he spends most of his time busking the streets of Dublin, hoping to one day get his music recorded. “The Guy” still thinks of his girlfriend who left him and he just can’t move on in life. One day, he meets “the Girl”, a recent immigrant. She loves music and would like to have a piano, but she’s struggling financially and can’t afford it.As they’re both struggling, a relationship starts to form through their shared love for music and they begin to work together on their new life.
Both actors did a good job in this musical as their voices were great!
I’m glad the movie wasn’t too long because I find there wasn’t too much content to the movie except for the singing.
The filming wasn’t that good because I noticed that the camera moved a lot. When the camera was still, I still notice a bit of shaking.
Overall, seeing Once once, was once enough. I was ok. Not great. Not bad. It was just ok. I’m not the musical type of person, but if you are, you’ll probably like it.

As an amateur musician, I appreciated this one more than you did I guess. But that’s ok. To each their own.
Once is one of my recent favorites for movies and soundtracks. The music weaves the story together for the two characters.
I’m also looking forward to Across the Universe, so I’ll be interested to hear what you have to say about that one.
Thanks for the review!

Hi Fitz,
Thank you for your comment. I will try to pick Across the Universe this weekend at Blockbuster and then let you know what I think about it.

I really enjoyed this movie - although there was some shaking filming at times I really loved the music in the movie, and the story-line was good as well. It was a different type of movie that would definitely appeal to a certain type of audience. I think the soundtrack for this movie would be awesome!
