Peter is devastated after his girlfriend, TV star Sarah Marshall, breaks up with him. To help him forget about her, Peter decides to take a trip to Hawaii, but what he doesn’t know is that Sarah is vacationing at the same resort…with her newfound British pop star boyfriend.
The break-up scene at the beginning of the movie is the most awkward break-up I’ve ever seen! There was actually something shown in this scene that I didn’t want to see at all!
Forgetting Sarah Marshall helps you to forget the cheesy romantic-comedy recipes that are currently plaguing Hollywood by not being the total opposite, but by being creative in its storyline. The chemistry between the words and the timing create laughing explosions throughout the entire film. Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s storyline surpasses the quality of The Heartbreak Kid and is much more humorous, but not as hilarious as Jack Black’s comedy, Be Kind, Rewind.
I do have to commend the producers of the film and Universal Pictures for the great and successful marketing plan they’ve used. So much money was spent on advertising the film that I think I’ve seen the various TV spots and trailers about 20-30 times in the past 2 weeks! Forgetting Sarah Marshall will certainly top the box office numbers this weekend.
If you’re looking for a moralistic movie, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is not a movie for you, but if you’re looking for a comedy, you’ll have a fun time laughing throughout it all. Just be warned that the film is rated R and may contain images you might not want to see!
Release Date: April 18, 2008
