Dan Burns (Steve Carrell) is a relationship adviser for the local newspaper, but faces his own hardships being a successful son, brother and single father of three girls. When Dan takes his daughters on vacation to see his family, he takes a little excursion to the local library and falls in love with a woman, but what he doesn’t know is that she’s his brother’s girlfriend.

Although our world craves for reality TV, Dan In Real Life is not a reality movie! The film features Steve Carell as Dan Burns, who writes a column in the local newspaper, titled “Dan In Real Life”. The movie isn’t as funny as the back of the DVD cover sells it. Carell goes a little too overboard when trying to create humor, which results in a very dry and boring film.

Dan In Real Life could almost be compared to watching ants building their little hills and for this reason you can put it in your top 100 new releases to rent on DVD.

Theatrical Release Date: October 26, 2007

  1. I disagree. I thought it was pretty good. :) But then again, I like Bubba Ho-tep and Evan Almighty. :)
