Iron Man Rating: Sizzling Popcorn

Billionaire Tony Stark has been the President of the family’s defense company for the past few years. He flies out to Afghanistan to test a new missile he’s created, but things go wrong. His crew are ambushed by a group of terrorist that use his products. Taken into captivity, Tony is commanded to recreate his new missile. He realizes that the weapons he produces are getting into the wrong hands and instead of complying with their demands, Tony creates an armored suit in order to protect himself and the world.

Iron Man stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard and Jeff Bridges. Downey Jr. and Paltrow remind me of Al Pacino and Kirsten Dunst because of their looks and their expressions. Robert Downey Jr.’s role as Tony Stark/Iron Man fits like a glove. If you were to look at the picture of Captain America fighting Iron Man (Tony Stark) (click here for photo), it would look like Marvel drew the cartoon after the filming of the movie as Downey Jr. and Tony Stark look so much alike. In general, the acting from the rest of the cast was fairly good and kept the movie in a lighter mood, with comic relief here and there.

Although there are few flaws in the details of the film, the story keeps true to the comic hero genre, where the hero loses his parents at an early age and discovers that they have a superpower they can use to save the world from evil. Iron Man was never one of Marvel’s most popular comics, but it will gain in popularity after the worldwide release of the film as the Iron Man suit is something everybody wishes they had. Imagine that! L.A. to Afghanistan in 1 minute!

Iron Man is a fairly good blockbuster that you should definitely see if you’re a superhero fanatic, but if you’re not, I would probably wait a few more weeks as the blockbuster season has just begun and The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones are soon to come!

Release Date: May 2, 20008

  1. I’m pretty excited to see this movie! If I recall correctly was Iron Man a drunk in real life and as the character? If so this is very funny. I hope they do well for the movie, sometimes you see great epic cartons turn into disaster movies and I don’t want this!

I’m afraid to read your whole article i don’t want to know anything until i watch it!

LOL…Tony Starks is an alcoholic! You always see him drinking, in the Humvee in Afghanistan and at big gatherings. There’s another funny part in the movie that he pulls out a drink, but I won’t tell you when as I don’t want to ruin the surprise nor the humor.

  3. The film was the best Marvel has produced so far.

  4. Iron Man was practically flawless as a super hero flick; it drops pretty obvious hints that would indicate a sequel as well… i’m thinking the next one should be equally great
