When Tai Lung, a snow leopard, threatens the Valley of Peace, Master Oogway must find the next Dragon Warrior who will save the jungle animals. Master Oogway chooses Po to be the next Dragon Warrior and to protect the Valley of Peace, but…how will the clumsy Po fight Tai Lung if he doesn’t know kung fu?
Kung Fu Panda features the voices of Jack Black (Be Kind, Rewind), Dustin Hoffman (Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium), Angelina Jolie (Beowulf), Jackie Chan (The Forbidden Kingdom) and Lucy Liu (Kill Bill).
I went to see Kung Fu Panda tonight at Galaxy Cinemas Cornwall. The theater was packed mostly with kids and their parents. I also noticed the odd young adults. Kung Fu Panda is an animated feature-length film geared to children. The movie is very funny and kids will love it, but some scenes might be too frightening for young children under the age of 8. What puzzles me with this movie is how does a panda have a goose as his father? Although the story is a little far-fetched, Kung Fu Panda is funny and short enough to keep the adult audience entertained.
My favorite part of the movie is when Po goes to the palace to attend the “Dragon Warrior Contest”. When he reaches the stairs to the palace, he notices that it might take him a few days to reach the top. Once at the entrance to the palace, Po sees the palace doors closing right before his eyes. He tries several ways to get into the palace courtyard but fails each time. He finally comes up with a brilliant idea…he straps himself to a chair that has firecrackers and rockets attached to it.
The message of the movie is to never give up, even when you face adversity. “To make something special, you just have to believe that its special” because “there’s not secret ingredient - it’s just you.”
Kung Fu Panda is a movie every children wants to see. Although it’s geared to kids, adults will also enjoy it as it is funny, short and sweet.
Did you know?: Two additional voices were provided by the winners of Nickelodeon’s Kung You Sweepstakes.

Thanks for the review. Looking forward to seeing this over the weekend. There are not too many movies that keep both adults and children entertained at the same time.
