After a bomb blows up an armored truck and kills a veteran detective’s fiancée, a renegade cop, a young officer and the veteran detective team up to try and take down Hong Kong’s notorious gang and it’s cutthroat leader.

Invisible Target is an explosive action-packed Hong Kong movie which stars Nicholas Tse (The Promise), Jaycee Chan (the son of Jackie Chan), Shawn Yue (Internal Affairs), and Jacky Wu Jing (Kill Zone).

Invisible Target

Ever hear the expression “all talk, no action”? Well, Invisible Target is the opposite. It’s all action, no talk. The action sequences, explosions and martial arts are all terrific, but the film lacks in other areas. The first thing I noticed is that the voices used for the English dubbing sound like Americans and not Chinese-Americans. If you turn on the English subtitles while listening to the dubbing, you’ll notice that the words aren’t the same. The subtitles use simpler words while the dubbing uses more elaborate words. Another thing I really notice is that some of the falls, although they’re performed by the actors, seem fake and unrealistic. For example, a guy falls down several stories and lands flat on the ground, but he gets back up unharmed. If I was to do that, I would end up dead or at least with a broken body part!

Invisible Target

Invisible Target has a running time of 130 mins but the story could have ended in 90 mins. It seems like the film was lengthened to add more action sequences.

Invisible Target

One thing thing I found quite funny was to see the good guy and the bad guy fighting (martial arts style) in the back seat of a taxi.

Invisible Target

If you love action, martial arts and Hong Kong flicks, you’ll love Invisible Target, but if you’re not an action junkie, you won’t want to see this.

Invisible Target
