The Blue Elephant

Rating: Butter Popcorn

Khan, a blue elephant with a lot of dreams, has been separated from his mother and the herd. While trying to reunite with his family and realize his royal destiny, Khan meets a few new friends on the way.

The Blue Elephant

The Jim Henson Company’s The Blue Elephant is a heartwarming story about courage that features the voices of Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly), Carl Reiner (Good Boy!) and Martin Short (The Spiderwick Chronicles). The film was originally written in Thai and later re-written for an American audience.

The Blue Elephant

The Blue Elephant is similar, to a certain extent, to The Land Before Time but is graphically incomparable to the 1988 animation. Kids will love this movie and will quickly be attached to not only Khan, but also the friends he meets on the way. This journey will have the kids belly laughing. The Blue Elephant brings a message of courage and that you must stand up for your family and love ones when they come under attack.

The Blue Elephant

The Blue Elephant is part of the next generation of animation flicks for the kids. It’s not too long to get them bored nor is it too short. If you’re looking for a fun entertaining movie for the kids, don’t look much further! The Blue Elephant releases on DVD in stores everywhere today!

  1. I do have to say that my kids liked it. But I didn’t really appreciate it. You can see my review here. Something just not right about CGI animation being associated with Jim Henson IMHO.

And the story was ok. But the animation wasn’t quite the quality we’ve been getting used to with Blue Sky and Pixar lately. Kind of grainy.

    I’ll stop whining now. :)

I do agree with you, Brian, on the CGI quality. I vaguely mentioned it when I said it “is graphically incomparable to the 1988 animation (The Land Before Time)” but didn’t go into too much detail because, whether it’s stick men or fantastic graphics, kids love good stories.

  3. NIce review. This is something I will put on my amazon wishlist for my son.
