NORM, an award-winning documentary by Sea to Sea Productions will premiere tonight (December 2, 2008) on CBC Newsworld’s The Lens at 10pm Eastern Time (check local listings). From Nova Scotian director/producer couple Kent Nason and Teresa MacInnes comes this heartfelt film about love, family and survival.
NORM is the love story of how a sister takes her older brother with Down syndrome into her home to provide everything he was deprived of when he was sent as a teen into foster care: love, family and community. Throughout his life, Norm has faced many challenges including Down syndrome and not being able to speak, but now that he’s growing older, in his early fifties, he is starting to show signs of Alzheimer’s disease. Norm’s sister is now afraid that she won’t be able to keep him forever, like she promised him when she was young. NORM is a touching story that we can all relate to.

Come back tomorrow for an exclusive interview with director Kent Nason.
