2008 is over and done with. It’s time to take a look ahead at 2009, but before we get too caught up into ‘09, let us take a look at what Hollywood and the film industry has brought us over the past year. 2008 was a great year for the industry as it busted its previous year’s record by almost 2%, taking in an unprecedented $9.78 billion domestically in estimated gross ticket sales. The year will be remembered for some of its great films, including the Warner Bros. blockbuster hit The Dark Knight, which generated almost $1 billion worldwide at the box office, but it will also be remembered for the sad news it brought, such as the tragic death of Oscar-nominated actor Heath Ledger.

Throughout this week, we will take you on a journey back into the past to give you a glimpse of the main events of 2008 that you may have missed, the passing on of the industry’s top stars, some of the hottest movies of the year, not to mention the winners of the 2009 SizzlingPopcorn.com Movie Awards, and finally, we will cap off the week with live blogging of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

Packed with interesting articles everyday, it will be a week you sure won’t want to miss! Keep coming back each day or subscribe to our feed by e-mail to receive your daily scoop of the past, present, future and some Sizzling Popcorn!
