SizzlingPopcorn.com is a movie news and review website based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia and is owned by Sizzling Popcorn Publishing Company. The site was officially launched on February 15, 2008 and has seen tremendous success ever since. The idea to create the site and company was conceived by the founder, Jean Brunet, after he had watched a few movies that he had high expectations for but ended up flopping. He wanted to create a forum where he could express his opinions of past, current and upcoming movies.

Originally from Ontario, Jean now resides in Halifax, NS. He moved to Halifax in 2003 to commence his studies in finance at Saint Mary’s University. In January 2008, he conceptualized the idea of creating his own business and website where he could share his views of Hollywood and the film industry. On February 15, 2008, Jean officially launched SizzlingPopcorn.com and Sizzling Popcorn Publishing Company. Since then, he has met a wide variety of people working in the film industry and has interviewed several of them that are mentioned below. Jean will be completing his finance degree this year while taking some film studies courses. Once completed, he hopes to continue to work in the film industry in Toronto, New York or Los Angeles.
